Taking Time Off To Let Muscles Heal
Taking Time Off To Let Muscles Heal
With my experience when working out lifting weights over a 6 month period takes a toll on your body, especially lifting heavy and light together. Lets face it, you need to take a break to let your muscles heal up.
Usually depending on you and your genetics, and how long you have been training consistently over the years, you should take about 1-3 weeks off depending on how strenuous your workouts are.
After about 5-6 months you can get a little moody, experience a lack of sleep, decreased appetite, being really tired to your workouts, which are all signs of a need for a break to let your muscles recover.
After about 1-3 weeks of recovery you will either be a little rusty or a little bit stronger when going back to the gym working out again.
Also doing this routine year round will help you prevent from over training and getting injured. So if you are moody, fatigued, experiencing lack of sleep, and a decreased appetite take some time off.
You will feel better for it.
