Nuts vs Cholesterol

Trammell's Health & Fitness Tips - Health, Fitness, Nutrition & Training Tips to Keep you Healthy and Motivated

Eating a moderate amounts of pecans which is about 3 quarters of a cup daily for 8 weeks can lower LDL bad cholesterol levels by 10%. The monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in the nuts are responsible for this effect, especially when nuts take the place of saturated fats in the diet.

Studies conducted with almonds and walnuts have shown similar results. Nuts are also high in heart healthy fiber, vitamin E, copper and magnesium.
